Back from Hiatus: Part 2

I decided to split the post into three parts because it was becoming very long.

Travie McCoy - "Billionaire (ft. Bruno Mars)" which appears on his Lazarus album.

B.o.B. - "Airplanes (ft. Haley Williams)" and "Magic (ft. River Cuomo)" from B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray

Baz Luhrmann - "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" from Baz Luhrmann Presents: Something for Everybody. What a great song with even better advice! This song was "to the Class of '99" which was the year I graduated.

Katy Perry - "California Gurls (ft. Snoop Dogg)" from the single of the same name.

Cupid - "Cupid Shuffle" from Time for a Change. I was at a wedding when I heard this and knew it had to be added to my library soon.

The Script - "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" from their self-titled album.

Rodney Atkins - "Watching You" from If You're Going Through Hell. This song has also been added to the Baby Mix playlist.

Eminem - "Not Afraid", "No Love (ft. Lil Wayne)", and "Going Through Changes" from his Recovery album.

Chris Tomlin - "Our God" from Passion: Awakening (Deluxe Edition).

Aaron Tippin - "Whole Lotta Love on the Line" from Now & Then.

Flo Rida - "Club Can't Handle Me (ft. David Guetta)" from the single bearing the same name.

Taio Cruz - "Dynamite" from Rokstarr.

Usher - "OMG (ft. will.i.am)" from Raymond V Raymond.

Michael Franti & Spearhead - Entire All Rebel Rockers album and "The Sound of Sunshine" from the album of the same name.

Kings of Leon - Complete Only By the Night album.

The following 41 tracks are from a co-worker who plays these for her students throughout her day. The kids love these tracks even though most of them are from before their time.

Akon - "Big Dog" from The Shaggy Dog [Soundtrack].

The Go Go's - "We Got the Beat" from Beauty and the Beat.

The Dave Clark Five - "Catch Us If You Can" from The Best of True Stereo.

Matthew Wilder - "Break My Stride" from I Don't Speak the Language.

Mason Williams - "Classical Gas" from The Mason Williams Phonograph Record.

Enya - "Orinoco Flow" from her Watermark release.

The Monkees - "(I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone" from The Definitive Monkees.

Bobby Darin - "Splish Splash" from The Hit Singles Collection.

The Surfaris - "Wipeout" from the Wipeout/Play single 45.

Sly & the Family Stone - "Dance to the Music" from the album of the same name.

Ritchie Valens - "La Bamba" from La Bamba & Other Hits.

Jackson 5 - "Little Bitty Pretty One" from Lookin' Through The Windows. Back when Michael Jackson was 'normal'.

Toni Basil - "Mikey" from Word of Mouth. How can we forget the words to this classic; "Oh, Mickey, you're so fine, you so fine, you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey."

Chubby Checker - "Let's Twist Again" from the album of the same name. 'Cause twisting once just wasn't enough for this guy. I bet he wasn't so Chubby after all the twisting; he probably had rock-hard abs by this point.

The Doobie Brothers - "Long Train Running" from The Captain and Me and "Steamer Lane Breakdown" from Minute by Minute.

Steely Dan - "Reelin' In the Years" from Can't Buy a Thrill.

The Ran-Dells - "Martian Hop" from the single entitled the same.

Ronnie Milsap - "If You Don't Want Me To" from Milsap Magic.

Dan Seals - "Bop" from In a Quiet Room.

Taylor Dayne - "Tell It To My Heart" which was the title track to the album.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - "Fishin In the Dark" from Hold On.

Hanson - "Mmm Bop" from Middle of Nowhere. I finally have this track. Its been in the back of my mind for some time and I've been meaning to get it.

War - "Why Can't We Be Friends?" from the album of the same name.

LSU Prep Band - "Pre-Game LSU Song". This track got me curious; which other schools have similar tracks on iTunes. More than you'd think. I am mostly interested in drum cadences. I will be purchasing, in the near future, many drum cadences from the iTunes store. They just want to make you get out of your seat and dance!

Ozark Mountain Daredevils - "Jackie Blue"; title track of album.

Billy Ocean - "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car" from Tear Down These Walls.

Werner Thomas - "The Chicken Dance" from the album of the same name.

Bill Haley & His Comets - "Rock Around the Clock"; again an album's title track.

Country Swingers - "Twisting the Night Away" from Stepping Line Dance.

Roy Orbison - "Oh, Pretty Woman"; title track to album.

Herb Alpert - "Rise" from the album of the same name.

Manfred Mann - "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" from A's B's & EP's.

Bobby Day - "Rockin' Robin" from Rockin' Robin/Little Bitty Pretty One.

Thomas Dolby - "She Blinded Me With Science" from The Golden Age Of Wireless. This song was also the theme song to the TV show "Weird Science".

Ringo Starr - "It Don't Come Easy" from the Ringo album.

Hampton The Hampster - "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" from Hampsterdance Hits.

Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - "Mexican Shuffle" from South of the Border.

Back from Hiatus: Part 1

Here we are, January 30, 2011. My last blog was July 28, 2010. A lot has changed since then. My pregnant wife and I moved to the other side of the state for a new job for me. Our son was born in early November and we have had a constant stream of family, new friends, and even a few old friends visiting us since. We spent the holidays with family as well. I managed to find some free time today and decided it was time to start back up with this blog. Here are the tracks that have been added to my collection since July. I'm sorry if the descriptions are short or non-existent; there is a lot to get through.

Michael Franti & Spearhead - Entire Yell Fire! album.

Michael Jackson - Complete This Is It album.

Lincoln Brewster - Today Is the Day and Let the Praises Ring - The Best of Lincoln Brewster albums.

O.A.R. - Live at Red Rocks 07.14.2007 album.

Lifehouse - "Halfway Gone" free iTunes music video - from their album entitled Smoke and Mirrors.

Phish - Complete Joy album.

Third Day - Live Revelations album.

Weezer - Entire Raditude album. This album features Lil' Wayne on the song "Can't Stop Partying".

Jay-Z - Entire The Blueprint³ album. I originally had just a handful of songs from the album, but finally completed it this past summer.

Amy Grant - Somewhere Down the Road album. Amy Grant has been a mainstay in Christian contemporary and this is her latest release. Her last release was 5 years ago, so this album was a long-time coming.

Santana - Carlos Santana: Divine Light album and Entire Dance of the Rainbow Serpent collection (3 discs). Santana is a legendary guitar player and overall musician.

Daughtry - Entire Leave This Town album.

Foals - "Spanish Sahara" from Total Life Forever

Eminem - "Love the Way You Lie (ft. Rihanna)" from Em's Recovery

Crash Kings- "Mountain Man" from Crash Kings

Big Boi - "Shutterbug" from Sir Lucious Left Foot...The Son of Chico Dusty

Troy Olsen - "Summer Thing" from the Troy Olsen - EP

Modest Mouse - Entire The Fruit That Ate Itself album.

Jason Derulo - Complete self-titled album.

David Arkenstone - Be Thou My Vision: Celtic Hymns. This album was probably already tucked into my collection in some form, but my wife had the CD out one day and I went to search for it in my library, but with no luck, so I put it back in. Sorry if it has already been 'blogged'.

Josh Rouse - "Duerme" from El Turista. A Starbucks freebie. Just pretent that you are in an elevator in a ritzy hotel in Barcelona, Spain.

Five for Fighting - Complete Slice album. This album was long overdue. I had almost completly forgot about F4F, until I saw this on the store shelf. I gave it a sample listen and was hooked. Vladimir John Ondrasik's sound has been unaltered since his debut in 1997. This is only his 5th album, but everyone one of them has been of the utmost highest quality with carefully thought out lyrics and well-paired melodies.

Adam Lambert - Complete For Your Entertainment album. For the ump-teenth time, don't judge me on my music and I won't judge you on yours. If you do, I may reply with "Whataya want from me!?!?"

Badly Drawn Boy - "Is there Nothing We Could Do?" from Is There Nothing We Could Do? (Music Inspired By the Motion Picture: The Fattest Man In Britain). This was a Starbucks freebie. They have been doing very poorly in the last 5 months, in my opinion, picking free music to give away. This song will receive very very little listening to.

The Greencards - Entire Fascination album. The Greencards are a progressive bluegrass band formed in Austin, Texas.

Jack Johnson - Complete To The Sea album. This native-Hawaiian has been changing his sound slowly to keep pace with his aging fans. Less up-beat tracks and more mellow/chill songs.

Stacy Clark - "White Lies" from the single of the same name. Starbucks freebie.

The JaneDear Girls - "Wildflower" video - free from iTunes. This is a very catchy song and the duo - smokin' hot.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour - "The Sun Ain't Shining No More" from the album entitled Fruit. Starbucks freebie. A Danish alternative pop band. Strange, but likeable.

Pacha Massive - "Prende la Luz" from All Good Things. This is a creative collaboration between Dominican-born Nova and Colombian-born Maya. Starbucks freebie

La Bien Querida - "Corpus Christi" from Romancero album. Starbucks freebie

The John Butler Trio - Complete April Uprising album. This release is amazing. One of the band's best. "One Way Road" will I never grow tired of.

Ingrid Michaelson - Entire Everybody album. Features her hit song "Maybe" and a stunning photo of Ingrid on the album cover.

R.E.M. - a few tracks from their Monster album. Just the hits. I'm not a big enough fan to purchase the entire album.

Taylor Swift - Complete self-titled album. I do enjoy a few of her songs, but I definately would not call myself a fan by any means.

Master Shortie - "Bringing It Back" from his A.D.H.D. album. iTunes freebie

Senator & The New Republic - "Intermission" from their self-titled album. Starbucks freebie.

Black-Eyed Peas - Entire The E.N.D. album.
